It’s my birthday and I have a special guest visiting. Camy Tang has stopped by for a one-on-one with me. Her book, Single Sashimi, came out last
month and is the last book in the Sushi Series. Without further adieu, here’s Camy.
1. What was your favorite scene to write in Single Sashimi?
The first kiss, mostly because the way it enfolded surprised me at the same time it surprised Venus! I know it sounds crazy, but Drake just kind of grabbed me and said, “Like it or not, I’m going to kiss her right now, not on page 100 the way you’d planned.”
2. Single Sashimi is the last book in your Sushi series. Any chance we’ll see the gals make cameo appearances in future books?
Now that’s a neat idea! Maybe, if I publish more books set in San Jose. Nothing in the works right now, though.
However, fans of the Sushi girls will be happy to know that I’m working on a novella (short novel) for Jenn’s story, and it’ll be available as a free ebook download for members of my newsletter YahooGroup. I’m also going to see about having it available in print format as a POD book on Amazon, so people who prefer a hard copy book can buy it if they want.
3. You just signed with Love Inspired Suspense, how great is that? Can you tell us about the book and if there are any other books for that line in the works?
The title is Deadly Intent and it’s set in a day spa in Sonoma, California—the heart of wine country. Here’s a back cover blurb I came up with, although it might not be what’s actually on the back cover:
THERE WAS A DEAD BODY IN HER MASSAGE ROOM
And massage therapist Naomi Grant is suspected of murder. She’s frustrated and helpless as a web of lies closes in around her, framing her. She doesn’t have time to worry about her shaky faith or think about her growing attraction to the victim’s ex-husband, Dr. Devon Knightley.
Orthopedic surgeon Devon had only needed to claim his mother’s necklace back from his ex-wife, but suddenly he’s embroiled in a murder investigation and someone is trying to kill him. He wants to somehow protect Naomi from the trap being set around her, but can he keep them both safe against a villain with deadly intent?
As for other books, Naomi has two sisters whose stories I’d love to write about. Since their father’s spa is very high class and chichi, and since Sonoma is a huge tourist town, and since the spa’s exclusive skin care products are in such high demand, there’s plenty of reasons for crime and mayhem to ensue among the Grants.
4. If you were any Lord of the Rings character who would you be?
I’d love to say I’d be elegant, mystical, and smart like Arwen, but in reality, I’m probably more like Pippin or Merry—a little stupid, loves to eat, but when push comes to shove, able to stand strong for what’s right.
5. It’s fall, what’s your favorite part of the season?
The cool weather. The summer heat just kills me. Fall temperatures are just right—a bit rainy, which I love, and not as bitter cold as winter.
6. It’s my Birthday today and I’m having a party. Whaddya bring?
Happy Birthday! I am bringing something a little unusual but which I love—mochi ice cream. It’s little ice cream balls wrapped in mochi, kind of like bon bons except with mochi instead of chocolate around the ice cream. The ice cream flavors are fabulous—strawberry, mango, green tea (don’t knock it until you at least try it—you might like it)—and the mochi is soft and not too chewy.
Any parting words as you jump out of the hot seat?
Thanks so much for having me Winnie! I’d like to add that until the end of October, I’m running a huge website contest where I’m giving away 10 boxes of books and 30 copies of Single Sashimi! People can go to my contest page to find out how to enter:

Happy Birthday, Winter. I hope that you have a blast.
Camy, thank you for a fun interview. I look forward to your new suspense series, and I for one am soooo glad you would be Pippen or Merry! They are fun! And who wouldn’t like a second breakfast now and then.
Kelly
