Ingredients

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie plate.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  3. Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the bottom of the pie crust.
  4. Sprinkle Monterey Jack cheese and cheddar cheese evenly over the sausage.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the sausage and cheese.
  7. Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.
  8. Let the pie rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

  • Use spicy sausage for a little heat.
