Classic Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients :

1 tablespoon vegetable oil1 chopped onion2 cloves minced garlic1 teaspoon dried thyme1 teaspoon dried rosemary1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon pepper1 pound lean ground beef4 teaspoons all-purpose flour¼ cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup¾ cup Heinz® Tomato Juice2 tablespoons Heinz Worcestershire Sauce2 tablespoons Dijon mustard1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas and carrots)3 cups warm, cooked mashed potatoes2 tablespoons butter1 minced garlic clove⅔ cup warm milk

Préparations :

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C).Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, thyme, rosemary, and half of the salt and pepper. Cook, stirring frequently, for 5 to 7 minutes.Crumble ground beef into the pan and cook until browned. Sprinkle with flour. Stir in ketchup, tomato juice, Worcestershire sauce, and mustard. Simmer for 5 minutes. Add mixed vegetables. Transfer to a 9-inch baking dish.Whip mashed potatoes with warm milk, remaining salt and pepper, butter, and garlic until fluffy. Spread potatoes evenly over the meat mixture.Bake in the preheated oven until the potatoes are golden on top, approximately 35 minutes.
